The Goats are Coming! (June 7)

Beginning Monday June 7, Yuba Water Agency will provide goats to clear brush and undergrowth along the shoreline of Lake Francis.

The goat workers will start eating their way down the shoreline to us. The Goatherder install 3ft portable fencing so the goats cannot accidentally go into homeowner’s yards and gardens. He will also have giant Pyrenees dogs to guard the goats and a mobile trailer parked by the dam for continuing onsite monitoring if any issues come up. The goats will clear (eat) both sides of our day beach area. They will be fenced-in in such a way that homeowners will not lose any use of the beach. They expect the job to take about two weeks to be completed.
